"Gravity" by A Perfect Circle inspired this piece. EDIT 3/7/09: I forgot, The Noose inspired this too. XD Lost again Broken and weary Unable to find my way Tail in hand Dizzy and clearly unable to Just let this go I am surrendering to the gravity and the unknown Catch me heal me lift me back up to the sun I choose to live
It just popped into my head and I had to draw it.
<random>Brownie points to whoever points out on which page the blot on Rorschach's mask first appears in the graphic novel! 8D
And I think this is the darkest painting in my whole gallery. </random>
I'm going to be doing a lot of watchmen fanart like this.. all inspired by songs I love. And it's going to be surreal and such. And Ror is just too much fun to draw. XD
Drew this around vamlumtimes day, (yes, I just did a homestar runner quote) and my weird-ass way of doing valentine's art is incorporating love or something related into a piece I'm already doing. Hence the blood on Ror's trench coat being in a heart pattern. The worst part about working with this picture was having to leave the window open. When it was 10 degrees farenheit outside. Those copic markers give a really strong smell when used for five hours straight.
Also tried a new highlighting style with this piece, what with the white lines. I quite like it. It makes my weird tree-thing look like it has sap on it or something.
Watercolours (for the background) and copic markers on vellum bristol, 11 x 14 I think.
And Rorschach belongs to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.

Interestingly, I had *just* got home from purchasing the 'Thirteenth Step' album from APC when I decided to brows the Rorschach artwork on the site. The track list was right in front of me as I read your description. **Shivers**
I love your coloring technique. It seems to stay somewhat loyal to the comic-book style.
Very interesting. Looks like something Rorschach might have in a dream, or maybe not. I don't know. But I like it. What's with the spider web though? Hope a big giant spider doesn't come along and eat him. Hurm.
Thanks. No, a spider's not going to eat him. And if there was a giant spider, I'd bludgeon it with a giant rolled up newspaper. XD I have no idea what's up with the spiderweb. Half the time I can't explain the meaning of my works. XD
